I am a geoscientist with expertise in sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, isotope and elemental geochemistry, and basin analysis. My research focuses on palaeoenvironmental reconstructions during the Neoproterozoic Era – a dynamic interval in Earth's history marked by major climatic shifts, tectonic reorganisation, and biological evolution.

My work integrates field-based sedimentology with geochemical techniques to investigate the temporal and spatial variability of ancient depositional environments across sedimentary basins. Much of my field research is based in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia, where Neoproterozoic successions preserve important records of environmental change during this critical period in Earth’s history.

I completed my Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours at the University of Adelaide in 2017 and commenced my PhD the following year. In 2023, I was awarded a PhD in Geoscience from the Australian School of Petroleum and Energy Resources at the University of Adelaide. Since completing my PhD, I have continued to work within the university across administrative, technical, research and teaching roles.

From March 2024 to November 2025, I held a Postdoctoral Research position in the Salt Basins Research Group, where my research focused on interactions between stromatolite reefs and salt-induced structures in the Flinders Ranges. In November 2025, I commenced an ARC Grant-funded Postdoctoral Research position in the Tectonics and Earth Systems Research Group. In this role, I am investigating drill core from the Birrindudu Basin in the Northern Territory and co-supervising Honours research projects focused on sedimentary successions in the Northern Mount Lofty Ranges and the Marla region of South Australia.

 

Since 2025, I have contributed to teaching across several courses in the Bachelor of Science program, including Earth, Climate and Life Systems (first year), Planet Earth (first year), Sedimentary Geology (second year) and Energy Resources (third year).

Beyond my research and teaching, I am passionate about geoscience communication and actively contribute to outreach initiatives at local schools and the university, community-led scientific publishing through my role on the editorial team for Sedimentologika, and professional societies as Program Secretary for the Geological Society of Australia, South Australia Division.
