Sept 2026 Arkaroola research fieldtrip
Alan Collins, Tian Gan, Ananyaa Deepak, Nicko Wyndham and Stella Colgrave will be joining students from Niigata University in Japan on a fieldtrip to the Flinders Ranges with highlights including Brachina Gorge and the new Nilpena National Park.
Aug 2026 Darwin off to sunnier climes
Our very own Dr Darwinaji Subarkah is off to take up a position as Basins Manager at the NT Geological Survey. He’ll be sorely missed here, but our loss is the Northern Territory’s gain.
Debbie through major PhD milestone
Debbie Mfa completed her first year PhD review. She recently returned for a stunning field campaign in far NE Namibia with A/Prof Absai Vatuva and Dr Coleen Uahengo from the University of Namibia.
Tian joins TES
Dr Tian Gan recently joined TES on a 3 year post-doc to work on the Palaeo-Mesoproterozoic geology and geochemistry of the Bangamall Supergroup in WA and on broadly coeval rocks from India.
New PhD candidate to join
We have a new PhD student—Mr Siddharth Karjini—who is to join us from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur later this year. He’ll be working on the protoliths of the Eastern Ghat Province, India.
Nicko rocks it in the NT
Nicko Wyndham has just returned from an amazing internship with the NT Geological Survey in Alice Springs where he has been looking at the Pertatataka Formation and have an overall excellent time in the field.. Thank you Charlie, Nick, Alex and everyone at the Alice Springs office.
